The Best Fall Jackets

Fall/Autumn has officially arrived, and many of us will need to buckle down and bundle up in these next coming weeks!  Many fall coats can cost well above $100, but here is a curated list of some of the most stylish outerwear out there for those of us on a college budget:

1. Levi’s Sherpa Lined Denim Jacket

I was lucky enough to find a sherpa lined Levi’s denim jacket at my local thrift shop, but UO has them if you absolutely need to own one.  This jacket is a great way to rock the denim jacket look in colder temperatures.

2. Classic Bouclé Overcoat

I’m just a sucker for anything in royal blue since it’s my favorite color, but seriously, this jacket is stunning.  It’s very classic and elegant and would be a captivating street style piece for the upcoming weather, especially for those with taller silhouettes (not me 😦 ).

3. Vintage Houndstooth Duffle Coat

Again, I’m also a sucker for anything houndstooth, but if you’re looking to make a statement with pattern as opposed to color, this is for you! Houndstooth is one of the most recognizable and classic patterns in existence and pairing it with a classic coat style is basically a match made in heaven.  A longline version is also available for only a few dollars more.

4. Zippered Faux Leather Moto Jacket

I actually just purchased this jacket in black for myself last week and I am IN LOVE WITH IT.  It’s very lightweight and doesn’t offer much warmth, but it’s a super stylish piece at a ridiculously low price, so I couldn’t resist.  Here’s a quilted version of it, which is chic in its own right.

5. Cotton Sateen Belted Trench Coat

Trench coats are just plain awesome and wearing one is a really easy way to look cool.  Enough said.

6. Wool Pea Coat

Japanese brand Uniqlo is a master of tailoring to perfection and making amazing lightweight yet heat retaining products (Heattech is a godsend especially for cold Chicago weather) and this pea coat is no exception.  If you’re looking for a affordable and durable option, Uniqlo has your back.
