Beauty Essentials

Hey, everyone! If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me what brand of eye makeup I was wearing, well, I’d have a lot of nickels.  Since 7th grade, I’ve been rocking Urban Decay’s amazing eyeshadows, and have discovered other great products over the course of seven years.  Here’s a list of my top 10 tried and true; I wear/use some combination of these products every single day.

1. L’OREAL Paris Eyeliner 690 in Carbon Black

This is my go-to eyeliner. This stuff can help even the shakiest of hands draw a flawless cat eye.

2. Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara

Although this is mascara, I use this product as brow gel to set brow hairs that have gone awry.  Pro tip: After putting this on your brows, trace your desired brow shape with your finger to really help the hairs and the gel settle into all the right places.

3. Josie Maran Creamy Concealer Crayon in Light 1

After discovering that I was using foundation when I should have been using concealer (concealer is what you should use when you want to cover up redness, acne, etc), I was overwhelmed.  How was I supposed to find the perfect concealer for my skin when there are thousands of different concealers out in the world? Luckily, this particular concealer just happened to be featured in a magazine I was reading at the time of this dilemma, so I went out to my local Sephora and bought myself a stick.  This concealer is AWESOME.  It’s lightweight, long lasting, and does its job well.  Would 100% recommend to anyone who needs new concealer.

4. Cream Lip Stain

Lipstick? Lip stain? What’s the difference, anyway? Lip stain is designed to last longer than lip stick, and this one from Sephora lasts forever, and the pigmentation is unbeatable.  Love it.

5. Urban Decay Primer

Primer is so important! Eyeshadow tends to wear off over the course of the day and primer helps make sure that you get full coverage. I always use Urban Decay brand primer, but there are definitely cheaper ones out there that will do the same thing.

6. Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Gunmetal

I’ve been using this eyeshadow for YEARS.  It’s the perfect gray because it’s not too light, but not too dark.

7. Daisy by Marc Jacobs

I’ve never been into perfume, but if I had to pick a signature scent, it would be Daisy.  Check out this post for more information.

8. Eyelash curler

Who knew that Forever 21 would have amazing eye curlers? I don’t curl my lashes every day, but if I’m feeling it, this curler does an amazing job.

9. Beauty blender

There are TONS of knockoffs of this nowadays, but I got it when it first came out so I paid full price¯\_(ツ)_/¯.  Makeup artists swear by it, and they do so for a reason.  This does a way better job at blending my concealer into my skin than my fingers do.

10. Electric Palette by Urban Decay

Ok, so I don’t actually own this palette as of yet, but my trusty palette that I’ve been using for 7 years has unfortunately been discontinued.  When it finally dies, the Electric Palette will undoubtedly become my new go-to for insane eyeshadow colors.
