I’ve had her EP playing on loop for the past few months, but Zella Day is officially on the rise thanks to the launch of her debut album two weeks ago. Zella is only 20 years old, but this singer-songwriter is killing it with sold-out performances in the L.A. area. Her 60s/70s aesthetic is a nice break from 90s nostalgia that’s been dominating pop culture for the past few years. Her songs are a mix of folk and indie pop, and they’ll have you pressing the loop button after just one listen. My personal favorites include Hypnotic, Mustang Kids, and Jerome, but each song on her album showcases an incredible force of talent. It’s safe to say that this girl crush is anything but fleeting, since Zella is well on her way to becoming a household name.
