Style Guide: The Fourth of July

Hey, everyone! Since I’m now working 35 hours a week, I’ll admit it’s been tough to set aside time for photoshoots and things.  Today, I’m trying something new: I created 3 outfit sets on Polyvore and put them in this post to share my outfit ideas with you all! I haven’t used Polyvore in over a year and unfortunately, these sets are not quite up to my personal standards, so please bear with me.  I’d definitely like to continue the Style Guide series on here, so you might see more posts with Polyvore sets in the future! In the meantime, I hope you all have a sun-and-fun-filled Fourth of July.  To make things even better, this post also doubles as inspo for Memorial Day weekend.

Polyvore 4th nroh 1

This first look uses two standard wardrobe items: a plain white t-shirt and denim shorts.  If you own both of those things, you’re well on your way to having a great outfit for the Fourth! I added red shoes here, but you can add red lipstick, red nail polish, or red jewelry to finish off this look.

Shop this look: Uniqlo white v neck tee / Topshop highwaist shorts / Converse star sneaker

This is the most summer-y look out of the three.  If you have a LWD (little white dress), you can pair it with your favorite pair of sandals for a classic look.  If you have a red or blue bandana or headscarf, throw it on for an instant patriotic touch! This is a great look for a nicer dinner or barbecue.

Shop this look: Cutout skater dress / Sergio Rossi strap sandals / Rumisu blue shawl / Essie nail polish /Essie nail lacquer

Finally, if you have a navy skirt in your closet, try pairing it with a red crop top and white shoes.  I picked a skater skirt, a mock-neck top, and white jellies for a more 90s vibe, but you can pull this off with any type of top, skirt, or shoe!  I personally think platforms or white sneakers would make excellent substitutes for jellies.

Shop this look: WearAll turtle neck top / Chicwish navy skater skirt / JuJu white flat shoes

Thanks for bearing with my not-yet-perfected Polyvore skills! These are all outfits that I would have loved to have styled in real life, and I can only hope that you all will carry on with that task this Fourth of July.  If you have any tips for using Polyvore more effectively, or thoughts on these looks, PLEASE leave comments below!

I love all your looks! Especially how simple the converse, blue jeans and white tee are. Just lovely!

Thank you so much! I’ve heard so many of my friends say they don’t know what to wear on Fourth of July, but the white shirt and denim combo is a no-brainer ^_^! I’m so glad to hear you liked these looks 🙂
