On the Radar: Denim Skirts and Dresses

Back in the day, I could be spotted rocking my 7 for All Mankind dark denim mini skirt and later on, my chambray dress.  Fast forward to 2015, and both the denim skirt and dress are popping up everywhere!

Me, circa 2011, in my chambray dress (retired from wardrobe, sadly)

Denim is such a staple fabric; we all have that pair of jeans that we love dearly or even a denim jacket that always leaves the house with us, but the denim skirt and dress can add even more style and versatility to one’s wardrobe.

For dresses, I’m loving this long sleeved one from Forever 21.  The layering possibilities are endless! Tights can go underneath in colder weather, and cropped sweaters would look great on top.

For skirts, I’m obsessed with this one from American Apparel.  The pencil silhouette is a sophisticated upgrade from the cutoff minis that usually come to mind.  Charlotte Russe has a cheaper version, which can be found here.

Hopefully, one of these items will make its way into my wardrobe soon.  In the meantime, if you’re interested in investing in pieces like these, I recommend checking out your favorite retail spots.  They’re bound to have similar stuff; seriously, these two items are so easy to find right now!

omg I love Old Navy!! haha I usually just score bathing suits there, but I didn’t think to look there for skirts this time around. That skirt is amazing and I actually like it without the button just as much! Thanks so much for sharing 🙂

Of course! I actually work at Old Navy. Before I worked there I never shopped in there or ever even looked around, but now I see cute stuff all the time while working. Good thing I have a discount!
