NYFW 2016

Hey, everyone! I can’t believe New York Fashion Week is ending as I’m typing these words- it went by soooo fast! This year was incredible- I made new friends and met up with old ones. What a time to be alive.Β I went to a total of 6 shows this season and each show blew me away for totally different reasons. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for future collections, but for now, let’s dive in:

DAY 1:

The first show I attended was Tibi. The bright hues in this collection were to die for- as were the beautiful floral prints and the flowy details. This show ditched the typical dark-room-bright-runway format; the entire room was filled with natural light.

Watch the finale of the Tibi show here:

After this show, I met the most incredible person, Cosette, who is the kids and teens ambassador for Wilhelmina models. We hung out after and wandered around the Meatpacking District and stopped at the Swell bottle activation booth:

We also wandered around Chelsea market and bought matching zodiac rings from Brooklyn charm:

We were #friendshipgoals within an hour of meeting one another tbh.

DAY 2:

Ok, this was a crazy day. I saw three shows in one day starting with Irina Vitjaz. She’s a Russian-Viennese designer (cool considering I study Russian and lived in Vienna for 3 months). Her collection had the best shapes for sure! The skirts are amazing, watch below:

A few hours later, I went to Leanne Marshall, of Project Runway fame. This was my favorite collection. The aesthetic was so ethereal. Her designs looked so effortless yet flawless. Β See for yourself:

I also ran into my friend Kathleen at this show which was such a nice surprise! She’s a photographer who killed it this year- she also achieved my dream of going to the Jeremy Scott show and the photos she took are unreal!

Later that day, I saw Anniesa Hasibaun’s show. Anniesa is a Muslim designer, and as an admirer of hijabi fashion, I was v excited for this collection. The accessories and the styling made this collection so fun! The designs were fabulous, for lack of a better word:

DAY 3:

On Tuesday, I saw the Lan Yu show. Lan Yu’s biggest claim to date in the Western world is being the mastermind behind this Kim K look:

She wore this gown to Cannes this year!

The designs were mainly in pastel colors with gorgeous tailoring:

I didn’t have anyone take a picture of me on this day πŸ™ , so here’s a grainy Snapchat selfie of the top of my dress and one for my shoes:

DAY 4:

Last but not least, I attended the Runa Ray show on Wednesday. The mostly black with hints of green color palette was a refreshing break from the pastel hues I’d grown so used to seeing. I’m also such a fan of the embroidery on her pieces!

Β Fashion Week is one of my favorite parts of the year and my favorite season, Fall, is just around the corner. I have so many upcoming looks to shoot and I cannot wait to share them here! Keep tuning in for more!! πŸ™‚ <3
