Hey, everyone! In case you haven’t noticed, I’m on a bit of a beauty kick on the blog right now. FYI, I have a few more weeks’ worth of beauty posts already lined up, so if you prefer to see my style and fashion content, check out my Instagram since I post OOTDs roughly 6x a week. Short plug over, back to the Glossier Zit Stick review.
Ok, so GLOSSIER. You guys know that I don’t really vibe with Glossier’s minimal beauty aesthetic (proud makeup maximalist over here). And we also know I have STRONG feelings about how much their lip gloss blows. BUT, I will say that their skin stuff is on to something. I did recently break down and purchase their Body Hero Duo after using it in my friend’s shower. It smells and feels so good that I had to have it, even though $35 is a RIDICULOUS price point 🤷🏻♀️. When they dropped Zit Stick, I was immediately intrigued. Ya girl’s been looking for a new spot treatment for a long time since the Oxy one I used to use is impossible to find in NYC drugstores. I grabbed one at the NYC showroom and decided to write my Glossier Zit Stick review to give it to y’all straight.
Glossier’s packaging game is pretty much always on point, so no surprises here. The packaging is quite cute. I’m a big fan of the light pink and red combo since it reminds me a lot of Valentine’s Day, but not in a cheesy, gimmicky way. The portable size is also handy. This product was designed to be thrown in whatever bag you so choose, and as a busy city girl always on the go, I deeply appreciate that.
I was honestly so scared, guys. I was so scared that the Zit Stick I bought was defective (it’s not). When you first get your Zit Stick, you have to twist the top for SUCH A LONG TIME before any product begins to come out! I was seriously twisting it for a minute straight with nothing and I was getting so freaked out. Finally, the product started to appear and I was able to actually use it, but this is something to keep in mind if you decide to purchase.
OK, SO IT’S PRETTY AND IT WAS A LITTLE HARD TO USE. BUT DOES IT FREAKING WORK?!?!?
Here’s the thing. YES, it does reduce redness and flattens out your zit so it’s just a red spot on your skin rather than a full-blown pimple. However, it is EXTREMELY drying. I used it a couple of times last week on my raised pimples, and while I was glad that they had shrunken down, I was then stuck with dry, peeling skin, which was really not much easier to disguise with my concealer. It’s super powerful, for sure, but it’s honestly a little TOO powerful, you know? My skin didn’t get seriously irritated or anything, but it was dry and flaky AF.
So that’s my Glossier Zit Stick review! I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and found it helpful. What kind of spot treatments do you use? How do you feel about Glossier as a brand? Have you ever tried any of their products? Leave your thoughts with me in the comments below.
