Home » Long Flight Skincare: 4 Products That Will Leave Your Skin Soft for Over 12 Hours
Hey everyone! I’m baaaack on the blog after a relaxing Thanksgiving stay with my family in Maui, Hawaii. I’m not going to be writing a post about the trip because all I did was hang by the pool and swim by the ocean since we stayed at a resort! Not really much to write about lol. If you want to see my Maui ‘grams, peep my Instagram.
The journey to Maui from New York and back were LONG ones that involved 10-hour flights plus plane changes once I landed in Honolulu. As you probably know, flights wreak havoc on your skin and the longer the flight, the more dehydrated your skin gets! Eeeek!! As a skincare aficionado, I made sure to give my skin the prep it so desperately needed to survive such a long journey. Aside from drinking tons of water, here is my complete long flight skincare routine.
LONG FLIGHT SKINCARE STEP 1: FACE MASK
Get a jumpstart on long flight skincare by preparing the night before you leave! I love this low-key hydrating watermelon glow mask from Glow Recipe. You just glob it onto your face and that’s it! No rinsing off or clean up afterward, a lazy person’s dream tbh. This mask serves as a great foundation for longer travel and can we talk about the cute packaging?!? Ugh, perfect for shelfies.
Glow Recipe Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask, $45 for 2.7 oz, $22 for 1 oz at Sephora
LONG FLIGHT SKINCARE STEP 2: LIP MASK
This is a TOP product at Sephora for a reason! If you get chapped lips on the reg, you deffo need to invest in this Laneige Lip Mask, stat. Dab some of this onto your lips the night before as well as right before you leave for the airport. It works wonders and it’s sold at a great price point.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, $20 for 0.7 oz at Sephora
LONG FLIGHT SKINCARE STEP 3: FACIAL MOISTURIZER
If you decide not to buy anything I’m recommending in this post, that’s iight, but if I had to pick a single product out of these four to buy for long flights specifically, it would be this baby from Kiehl’s. This moisturizer is dumb thicc and HOLY s, I could still feel the residue from it on my skin AFTER I arrived in Maui, some 12+ odd hours later. NO joke. This will keep your skin hella hydrated; I am so impressed with this product it’s insane. Buy this and your skin (and I, #affiliatelinks) will thank you.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, $50 for 4.2 oz, $30 for 1.7 oz, $18 for o.95 oz at Sephora
LONG FLIGHT SKINCARE STEP 4: BODY MOISTURIZER
Ha, funny story about this one. This moisturizer from First Aid is facial moisturizer but I love the coconut scent, so I like to put it on my hands and elbows! If that’s not your jam, other fab alternatives include this one from Bliss and this one from Sol De Janeiro. Your hands and elbows need some pre-flight TLC, too! I apply this right before boarding.
First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer, $28 for 1.5 oz, $14 for 0.75 oz at Sephora
